Job Description:
Separation Technologies has an opening for an accountant to provide single-source accounting support within a dynamic multi-location environment. This salary exempt position will report to the Business Unit Assistant Controller – Titan Mid-Atlantic and is based in Daleville, VA. The primary function of this position is full charge accounting for the Ash and Essex Cement businesses. This individual will report the business unit’s finances to operation managers and senior management.
Job Responsibilities:
▪ Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis. ▪ Review invoices and ensure proper accounting for expenses for all of the operating sites and administrative locations. ▪ Produce and review the monthly financial statements, including the profit & loss statements, balance sheet, and other financial reports to ensure accurate and prompt results for the business. ▪ Properly account for monthly management adjustments for the company’s international sites, and process foreign exchange re-measurements. ▪ Provide support to non-accounting personnel in the business centers on a variety of accounting issues. ▪ Develop practices and procedures in line with the strategic direction of the division. ▪ Prepare quarterly, semi-annual, and year-end reporting as required and assist external auditors on related business inquiries/requests, including tax requests.
Job Requirements:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. ▪ Minimum 5 years previous accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. ▪ CPA and/or Master’s Degree preferred. ▪ Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, international accounting principles and computerized accounting systems. ▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ▪ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, required. ▪ Knowledge of AS400/Infinium/SAP/Hyperion systems preferred. ▪ Strong team focus with ability to serve as a valued resource for both internal and external customers. ▪ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities. ▪ Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. ▪ Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and research to resolve ambiguous information effectively.

Job Description:
Titan Mid-Atlantic has an opening for a Safety Manager for its Roanoke Cement operation located at the Roanoke Office in Virginia. This salary exempt position will report directly to the BU Safety Manager. The primary function of this position is to ensure compliance of all safety affairs as regulated through the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals & Energy (DMME), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), and Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities: •Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, including employee (task) training and monitoring occupational exposure limitations. •Monitor safety progress against goals and implement programs as directed •Follow appropriate reporting procedures •Direct and or/conduct prompt investigations of safety related incidents including root-cause analysis with a focus toward prevention. Individual will promptly communicate findings and update safe work procedures. •Serve as contact person between regulatory agencies and operations as required. •Manage pro-active Behavior Based Safety Program •Manage the training program for the plant including safety, equipment, task, and procedures. •Ensure Employee Involvement in All aspects of Safety Program •Assist Environmental Engineer with compliance with environmental aspects as required.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications: •Bachelors of Science degree required, Industrial Engineering preferred. •Must have an understanding of laws and regulations as they relate to safety compliance required. Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations preferred. •3-5 years minimum experience within a manufacturing facility with exposure to plant equipment and operation, In addition, experience managing a behavior based safety program is strongly desired. •Minimum of 2 years exposure to plant safety and compliance •Experience in dealing with the aforementioned agencies required. •Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities. •Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. •Position will require some travel.
